This image looks fake, like a CGI scene out of an apocalyptic movie, but it was very real.
It was taken from the loading dock of New Ulm Public Schools’ Washington Learning Center. A co-worker and I were moving equipment between buildings, hoping to beat a forecasted storm, and had finished moments before the front arrived. I’ve never seen a sky so angry, but watching it grow in minutes from a gray sliver on the horizon into an imposing monster was incredibly compelling.
