I would classify many of the images I take as “accidental photography.” I don’t scout sites or spend hours at a location waiting for something to happen. (I don’t have the time for that although I will make myself aware of sunrise and sunset times or places where animals are frequently spotted.) I may have that luxury one day, but until then I take pictures of things that catch my eye or arouse curiosity. Those images don’t always translate to something meaningful, but it’s exciting when they do.

This image was one of those surprises, and I smile every time I see it. Summer is snuggled up against her brother, Cider, and he has put his paws around her in an embrace. Her face shows contentment, and I know she was happy because both were lying on me and I could feel her strong purr. (The warm lighting was a bonus.)
