A single image can sum up the feeling of a place, and this silhouetted scythe-like tree did that during a visit to Grand Ravines Park in Ottawa County, Michigan. Many trees along the trail had fallen over or were struggling to survive in their waterlogged homes. This tree, along the banks of the Grand River, spoke ominously about the state of its section of the park on that cold, overcast day.
